over half from animal farming. RDT invest in agricultural production which help create cero carbon footprint products what we call Eco-Agro.
• Organic Products (Non petrochemical fertilizers, fungicides and pesticides)
• Zero Carbon Practices like 100% Renewable Energy Farming
• Soil Carbon Sink Practices
Soil is a major carbon sink, but many agricultural practices release carbon.
• No-till farming, cover crops, and crop rotation can store carbon in soil.
These practices improve soil health and fertility, leading to higher crop yields. The main practices are:
• No-till or limited-tillage farming, which involves sowing crops without ploughing or tilling the entire field beforehand.
The technique reduces soil erosion, slows down organic matter decomposition due to minimal soil oxygenation and preserves the soil’s biodiversity (worms, in particular).
• Permanent soil cover: This is either mulch from crop residues left in the field or living plant cover between different crops.
This cover protects the soil against erosion, especially water erosion, and traps carbon, all while benefiting soil wildlife (bacteria, fungi, earthworms, etc.).
• Crop diversification, either through crop rotation or through intercropping.
A more diverse crop means less development of bioaggressors and plant diseases, as well as increased productivity for the cultivated plots, owing in particular to the effects of previous crops.
For example, a rotation crop of legumes (such as peas, beans, groundnuts, broad beans or lucerne) locks in nitrogen from the air and releases it into the soil, thereby favouring the growth of the next crop.
Boosted productivity among crops helps keep more carbon in the plot.
As such, a greater amount of carbon then enters the soil, specifically through crop roots.
Top Bananas®
Top Cacao®
Happy Seafood®

Fresh Air Fruit & Veggies®
Top Banana are organically grown bananas using no petrochemical pesticides and fungicides and adhering to zero carbon footprint objectives throughout the production line. Not only are these healthier and tastier bananas but help stop the effects of Green House Gases (GHG).
Consumers can count on a healthier diet that organic bananas provide and also create an environmentally healthier world. Ecuador is the largest exporter of Bananas in the world, with RDT’s program the objective is for Ecuador to meet the world’s climate change solution objectives.
RDT sources, invests and promotes in Ecuador’s Cocoa which is know to be the best quality in the world and studies have found that the origins of Cocoa is the Ecuadorian Amazon Jungle. This cocoa comes from predominately small family farms which enhances the economic social development.
Globally, cattle are estimated to produce 5,335 million tons of CO2 equivalents (CO2e) per year, which is about 11% of all human-induced GHG emissions. Global methane (CH4) emissions produced from enteric fermentation in cattle were estimated at 73.5 million metric tons in 2021. The beef and dairy cattle industry is one of the main contributors to global greenhouse gases. Methane makes up about half of the total greenhouse gases this sector emits. Cows generate methane in two main ways: through their digestion and through their waste. Cows are part of a group of animals called ruminants.
RDT sources, invests and promotes in producers that practice environmentally and socially friendly production methods. Included in the practices is introducing alternative feed which include methane reduction like seaweed from seaweed farms that RDT is helping to promote in the Ecuadorian coastline. Also the care of cattle by non-evasive and non-petrochemical products to keep cattle healthy like aloa vera creams so that cattle is not hurt by chemicals in RDT’s field studies have shown to increase dairy production from 5 liters per day to 14 liters per day this help keep the need to increase dairy cattle drastically down and better heathier dairy products and a cleaner environment.
Ecuador is the largest exporter of farm raised shrimp in the world. Unfortunately the majority of the shrimp farms use diesel generator to pump water in their ponds creating many environment problems. The industry is quickly changing and RDT is there to help by providing on and off site Renewable Energy Solution. RDT also structures methodologies for the farmers to be able to have zero carbon certification for their products.
Zero Carbon Footprint Fruits & Vegetables
Using the same principals of Top Banana® RDT sources, invests and promotes a variety of organic fresh fruits including Pineapples, Passion Fruit, Guanabana, Pitahaya Dragon Fruit, and Plantains that have been grown with environmentally and socially friendly practices.
One of our low carbon footprints produce in Fresh Air Fruit & Veggies is Pitahaya - or, dragon fruit. Which is great in sustainable agriculture. It prefers to grow in a dry climate which means it uses little water so it does not put too much pressure on water resources. This drought-resistant crop also cultivates biodiversity and can be grown organically, reducing the need for pesticides. Pitahaya is not only an eco-friendly option, it’s a powerhouse! These are full of antioxidants, Vit-C & B and roughage which would keep our immune system intact; helps in digestion and the texture keeps his skin healthy as well. It is extremely low in calories and a heavy source of nutrients so an ideal addition to everyday life. The use of pitahaya allows both farmers and consumers to take part in maintaining the environment and supporting their health.
